RCAPA™/RAPA™ Rotary Wing Pilot Qualifications *

A Rotary Wing Pilot shall be able to proficiently perform these minimum maneuvers to be considered "certified" under RAPA™ standards.
 

1. Fly in all orientations **
    
2. Fly left and right hand full circles
    
3. Fly in forward flight in all orientations **
    
4. Perform an autorotation landing to a specified landing position. ***
    
5. Hold a steady hover at with the helicopters nose pointing away, left, right, and nose in to the pilot.
    
6. Hold a steady hover at 100 ft altitude without any electronic cyclic (pitch and roll) stability device.
    
7. Perform a planned flight path, including a specified landing position.

* These Pilot Qualifications are still under review and have not been authorized yet.
** Inverted flight ability is not required
*** Autorotation ability does not need to be demonstrated while carrying camera mount or equipment.
