RCAPA™ / RAPA™ Rotary Wing Pre-Flight Checklist *

The following checks will be performed before each flight
 

1. Check Servo Arm Connections
    
2. Check Linkages & Ball Connections
    
3. Lubricate the tail gear box (if exposed) and tail pitch slider.
    
4. Lubricate the swash plate and main shaft.
    
5. Inspect Tail belt drive if any.
    
6. Check Antenna
    
7. Perform a transmitter/receiver range check
    
8. Confirm that loss of radio signal will cause fail-safe to force engine/motor to go to idle or shut down.
    
9. Extend Rotor Blades & Check Blade Tension
    
10. Inspect Rotor Blades, Fly-bar, and Tail Rotor Blades
     
11. Check for Free Tail Rotor Movement
     
12. Inspect Vibration Isolators
     
13. Scan Frequency for Clear Channel
     
14. Check for Good Voltage Under Load
     
15. Check for proper Gyro operation
     
16. Designate & Secure a Landing Zone
     
17. Designate an Emergency Landing Zone
     
18. Have control personnel available to control & warn nearby pedestrians
     
19. Develop a Flight Plan
